Travertine is a white or light-coloured calcareous rock and a form of limestone deposited from mineral springs, especially hot springs, which is mainly used in building. This material often has a fibrous or concentric appearance and exists in white, tan, cream-colored, and even rusty varieties.
Slate is a fine-grained, foliated, homogeneous metamorphic rock derived from an original shale-type sedimentary rock composed of clay or volcanic ash. It’s usually used for roofing, swimming pools, bathroom and pavement.
